Beyond Ourselves, the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association community service organization, sponsored
the 2018 "Share the Love for the Kids Home Tour" on February 3, 2018. This was the group's 9th annual fundraiser to raise
money to help the children of Charlotte County.
There are several organizations in Charlotte County that benefit the children of Charlotte County that are in need. Beyond Ourselves donates to these various organizations each year with proceeds from our yearly Home Tour.
The Back Pack Kidz Program, sponsored by the YaYa Girls, serves the weekend food needs of over 1,500 children in Charlotte County. Students, identified by school administrators, are given backpacks filled with non-perishable food every Friday. Beyond Ourselves is proud to be able to help support this effort to feed the children of our county and has given $68,500.00 from the Home Tours to this program.
Crossroads HOPE Academy is an environmentally based program in Charlotte County serving youth in a residential therapeutic environment. The therapeutic group home allows for enhanced developmental experiences for at risk boys between 12 and 17 years of age. Optimal length of stay is until they are out of foster care. The program incorporates Behavorial Health Overlay Services, behavior modification, vocational training, academic support, and education on site that allow for remediation support and credit enhancement. Beyond Ourselves is proud to be able to help support this unique effort in our county and has given $32,000.00 from the Home Tours to this program.
